Machining, cutting, forming, finishing and assembly

Cross Sound Machine, Inc. offers precision metal fabrication services for custom components and assemblies. Each project is reviewed individually, so processes, materials and finishes match what you need to build.

Specifications are confirmed per project. Materials, thicknesses, tolerances, finishes, quantities and lead times depend on your drawings and requirements, so we do not publish generic figures here. Send your files and we will review them against what you need.

01 / CNC Machining

CNC Machining

CNC machining uses computer-controlled cutting tools to remove material from metal stock and produce parts to a programmed geometry. It is well suited to pockets, holes, slots, profiles and other features that need to be accurate and repeatable from part to part.

Cross Sound Machine, Inc. machines custom components from customer drawings and CAD files, and can discuss single prototype parts as well as repeat orders where applicable.

Typical uses

  • Machined brackets, plates, blocks and hardware
  • Precision features for panels, chassis and enclosures
  • Custom components that will be fabricated into assemblies

02 / Fiber Laser Cutting

Fiber Laser Cutting

Fiber laser cutting uses a focused laser beam to cut flat sheet metal into precise profiles, with openings, slots and patterns defined directly from a drawing or CAD file. It is a natural starting point for many sheet metal parts.

Laser cutting is commonly paired with forming, so a flat cut part can then be bent into its finished shape.

Typical uses

  • Panels and faceplates with cutouts for controls and connectors
  • Perforated and slotted patterns such as speaker grilles and vents
  • Flat blanks for chassis, brackets and enclosures

03 / Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication

Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication

Sheet metal fabrication turns flat material into finished parts by combining cutting, forming and joining. A flat pattern with bend lines and reliefs becomes a chassis, cover, tray or bracket once formed.

We work from your drawings and can discuss how a design will be cut, formed and assembled so the finished part meets your requirements.

Typical uses

  • Chassis, covers and enclosure bodies
  • Rack-style panels and mounting hardware
  • Formed parts that combine several fabrication steps

04 / Sheet Metal Forming

Sheet Metal Forming

Sheet metal forming shapes flat metal by bending it along defined lines to create flanges, channels, boxes and other three-dimensional forms.

Forming requirements such as bend locations, flange sizes and part geometry are reviewed against your drawings before work begins.

Typical uses

  • Folded flanges and returns on panels
  • Brackets, channels and angles
  • Box-style and tray-style enclosure components

05 / Finishing

Finishing

Finishing covers the surface treatment and preparation of fabricated parts so they arrive in the condition your project requires, whether that is a cleaned and prepared surface or a specific appearance.

Finish requirements are discussed and confirmed for each project, and are stated in your quote or order.

What to tell us

  • The appearance or surface condition you need
  • Whether parts will be finished further after delivery
  • Any drawing notes or reference samples that describe the finish

06 / Assembly

Assembly

Assembly brings fabricated parts, hardware and fasteners together into completed sub-assemblies, so you receive parts that are ready for the next stage of your build.

Assembly scope is defined in your quote so both sides know exactly what is included.

Typical uses

  • Chassis with brackets, panels and hardware installed
  • Multi-part metal assemblies built to your drawings
  • Sub-assemblies delivered ready for your production process

07 / Custom Component Production

Custom Component Production

Beyond standard shapes, we produce custom metal components to your drawings, specifications or reference documents. Parts can combine several of the processes above.

If you are unsure how a part should be made, send what you have and we can talk through the options.

Typical uses

  • Prototype and small-run custom parts
  • Repeat components for ongoing production where applicable
  • Parts that need machining, cutting, forming and finishing together

Preparing a quote request

What helps us quote your project

The more complete your information, the faster we can review it. If you do not have everything, send what you have and we will follow up.

  • Drawings, CAD files or specifications, in whatever format you have
  • Material requirements, if you have them
  • Quantity, and whether this is a prototype or a production order
  • Finish and assembly requirements
  • Your preferred timeline
  • Any inspection or documentation needs
